First V-77 oil change

On Monday afternoon, Wade came over and we changed the oil in the V-77.  We went from straight mineral oil for the break in period to a multi-viscosity oil (Phillips 25W60).  We also greased the prop.  The oil change is an involved process and took about 4 hours including the run-up time and cowling re-installation.  This will be due again in 25 more flight hours.

First Gullwing Cross Country Flight

Debbie and friend Steve flew with me today to Bentonville, Arkansas.  This will be the site for the September Stinson Summit.  Several of us flew there to check out the place and have lunch together.  It was only 2 hours to get there, and the same coming home.  The weather was great, too!  The airport is really nice.  We will also fly to a back country strip called Sugar Creek (58AR) for some of the talks and other fun things.  There are several interesting museums there, including the Wal-Mart museum.  So, should be a lot of fun.  I have 11.9 hours on the V-77 now!

A shot through the window.  Great parking on a circular ramp.

Heading home.... Debbie staying warm under my Snoopy blanket.
