Wade came by today and completed the repair on the rib, including a signed FAA Form 337. He also showed me how to remove the old control surface bearings using a C-clamp and 2 sockets. It works really well (see pictures below). I removed all the bearings in both wings and replaced about half before running out of time. Wade also said I was good to go on the covering. Maybe tomorrow?
Finished rib repair
Old bearing to remove.
C-clamp and sockets in place. The near one is the size
of the bearing, the other a little bigger. Now turn
the clamp and squeeze the old bearing out.
Empty hole for new bearing.
Repeat the process and squeeze the new bearing in place.
