Its a crack up

I have worked on the copilot seat the past few days.  One thing I discovered is the seat frame bottom is bent and also cracked.  Wade is going to bend it back and weld it.  The airplane was involved in a landing accident in its past, so maybe that is when the damage occurred.  It is where the seat belt attaches and bent in an upward direction.

Otherwise, I have the rest of it painted and ready to go.  While I was cleaning the turn table for the seat (it swivels around to talk to those in the back), I discovered one of the bearings is missing.  So, Wade is going to see what he can find.  Then all that will be left is painting the repaired seat frame bottom and reassembly.

I have worked on the front seats during free time this week.  I got the old cushions removed and then used the wood they were attached to for templates.  After cutting new seat bottoms and backs, I varnished those.  I have also painted the pilot seat frame and attached the wood.  Below is a trial fit.  Now to get the copilot frame cleaned up and painted....then I will re-assemble it.  After that, just add some foam and leather!

I shipped my instrument panel last week.  I was going to send it by USPS ground, but it was $20 cheaper to send it priority.  Go figure!  It arrived last week and I arrived today.  Of course, a first priority was to see how it fits.  Looks perfect!  Now to get it powder coated.
